Has your organization been waiting for the right time to enroll in AASLH’s Standards and Excellence Program for History Organizations (StEPs)? Now is the time because AASLH is offering a special “get-the-ball-rolling” bonus for organizations that sign up in June.
StEPs is all about daily tasks like caring for collections, planning programs, and working with a board of directors. StEPs will help you build a stronger and more vibrant organization. And that translates into more credibility, more support, and a museum that is a valuable asset to its community for many more years to come.
“Through StEPs, we developed a board skills checklist and written responsibilities, created more meaningful board meeting agendas, and undertook our first-ever strategic plan…The sheer excitement generated by our StEPs project doubled our membership in the first year,”-Suzanne Teixeira, President of the Totoket Historical Society in North Branford, CT

The $175 one-time enrollment fee never expires (annual institutional membership required the first year and must be active thereafter to continue earning progress certificates). In addition to the easy-to-use StEPs workbook, your organization receives valuable benefits including access to the online community with sample forms and policies plus the electronic version of the workbook.
Join StEPs in June and receive a FREE registration for the upcoming StEPs Lab webinar “Collections Care YOU Can Do and What to Leave to Conservators” as a special bonus to help you start making StEPs towards excellence. Even if you can’t watch the live webinar, a recording will be sent to all registrants after the event.
