Membership

AASLH offers multiple membership levels for individuals, institutions, and academic programs. Within these levels, we offer several member types, including New Professional, Student, Retired, Budget Level Institutional, Academic Program, and Partner Institutional. If you wish to renew online with a credit card, go to our website at aaslh.org and click “Membership Center” at the top right of the screen or click here. Once you login with your username and password, you will be asked if you wish to “Upgrade My Membership Now” or “Continue with Current Membership.” This message appears when your membership is nearing expiration. Click “Upgrade My Membership Now” and follow the instructions.

If you wish to pay with a check, mail the check along with your renewal notification to our office at 2021 21st Avenue South, Suite 320, Nashville, TN 37212.

You can continue with your current membership until the actual expiration date is reached.

To update the contact information associated with your AASLH Profile, go to our website at aaslh.org and click “Membership Center” at the top right of the screen or click here. Once you have logged in, click “Manage Profile” in the menu. Then, look for the “Information and Settings” heading. Under this heading, click the icon labelled “Edit Bio.”

If you are a new member with AASLH, find your username in your New Member Kit (which will arrive by mail) and follow the instructions provided there to setup your account.

If you have an existing membership with AASLH, you will need the username or email address associated with your membership. To login, go to our website at aaslh.org and click “Membership Center” at the top right of the screen or click here. If you do not know your password, follow the instructions below for “How do I reset my password?”

If you are not a member with AASLH but have purchased resources or registered for events with us, you may already have an AASLH Profile. Please follow the instructions above to login and reset your password.

If you need help, email us a membership@aaslh.org or call us at 615-320-3203 and we will be glad to assist you.

Go to our website at aaslh.org and click “Membership Center” at the top right of the screen or click here. To reset your password, find the link under “Forgot your Password” that reads “Click here to reset your password.” An email will be sent to you with instructions on how to reset your password.

Staff of Institutional Members must have an Institutional Staff Profile. To add staff to your Institutional Membership, go to our website at aaslh.org and click “Membership Center” at the top right of the screen or click here. Login with your Institutional Membership login credentials. Once you have logged in, click “Manage Profile” in the menu. Then, look for the “Information and Settings” heading. Under this heading, click the icon labelled “Add Staff Members.” Follow the instructions to “Add Staff Members.” (If you do not see the “Add Staff Members” icon, confirm that you have logged in with your Institutional Membership login credentials, not the credentials of your own staff profile).

You need to know your AASLH Profile login information (username and password) to register for an event. If you have an Institutional Membership, you’ll need an Institutional Staff Profile. (See “I am an Institutional Member, how do I add my staff to my membership?” for details).

Once you know your AASLH Profile login, hover over “Resources” in the menu of this website (at the top of your browser window), then click “Resource Center,” or, follow this link: https://learn.aaslh.org/

Browse our catalog and search for an upcoming event. Click register, and you will be prompted to login with your AASLH login information.

Get Involved

Details on submitting donations to our Annual Fund, endowment, various scholarship initiatives, or joining the Legacy Society can be found on our Donation page.

AASLH is accepting submissions of short articles to be posted on our official blog. Specifically, we are seeking articles on issues and challenges facing history organizations and their staffs. Articles should be clear, concise, and offer obvious takeaways or suggestions. There is no deadline, and submissions are welcomed at any time. You can expect a response within two to three weeks.

We have several opportunities for you to get involved. Look over the Get Involved page to see what interests you the most. Our committee terms begin on October 1. To be considered for an AASLH committee, please email the committee chair. You can find a list of the Affinity Groups here.

To volunteer for the AASLH Annual Meeting you must be student and have an AASLH Student Membership. When you register for the Annual Meeting, follow the instructions to become a volunteer.
