AASLH provides leadership, resources, and advocacy to help the history community thrive and tell a shared history in which everyone belongs.

Today, we share our 2025 Annual Report.

Last year, AASLH and its members defended and championed the history sector in response to numerous challenges from the White House, including federal funding and staffing cuts, grant cancellations, attempts to warp historical practice and whitewash history, and more.

We demonstrated our commitment to strengthening the field by conducting a groundbreaking survey about the state of the field’s workforce.

Amid the difficulties of last year, our community found solidarity, solace, and support in one another. Our membership grew, and we gathered in Cincinnati for one of our highest attended conferences.

AASLH training continues to support your growth—empowering both you and your peers with knowledge skills that matter.
