Providence’s dynamic season of summer festivals continues into September with PVDFest, a citywide celebration that brings together artists, performers, musicians, food vendors and community organizations from across Rhode Island and beyond. Taking place during the joint annual meeting of the Association of State and Local History and the National Council on Public History, PVDFest offers conference attendees an opportunity to experience Providence at one of the most vibrant moments of the year.
Centered in Kennedy Plaza, the city’s civic core, and extending into surrounding downtown streets, PVDFest transforms the heart of Providence into an open-air showcase of culture, creativity and community. Visitors extending their stay after the conference will find performances throughout downtown, large-scale public art installations, live music, interactive experiences and a wide variety of local food and beverage offerings.
PVDFest highlights the artistic spirit that defines New England’s Creative Capital year-round.
