AASLH’s Historic House Committee is hosting a webinar, Talking About Change at Historic Sites on March 27 from 2-3 pm Eastern.
The focus of this presentation is talking about change (whatever that change is at your institution) and offering suggestions about talking about change with your board and staff at your historic site. Donna Ann Harris of Heritage Consulting Inc. will lead this online webinar discussion and provide some examples of historic sites that have talked about change and implemented it. Harris will look at how you can make change happen at your institution and creative ways to keep our historic houses sustainable.
Using Harvard Business School professor John Kotter’s book A Sense of Urgency, Ms. Harris will examine his 8 step change model including reasons for change, building a coalition, developing a vision and strategy, who to communicating the change vision, empowering action, etc. Also for discussion is how to make change stick.
AASLH’s Historic House calls are meant to be a discussion which we invite you to engage in. We will provide ample time for questions and discussion by participants. The committee is dedicated to offer practical information that can be applied to house museums of any size and budget. This webinar is free for AASLH members, but preregistration is required.
