In December, the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) announced that it will award $12.8 million in grants for 253 humanities projects and programs. “The humanities offer us a path toward understanding ourselves, our neighbors, our nation,” said NEH Acting Chairman Jon Parrish Peede. “These new NEH grants exemplify the agency’s commitment to serving American communities through investing in education initiatives, safeguarding cultural treasures, and illuminating the history and values that define our shared heritage.”
Thirty-four AASLH members were among the grant winners, and their total grants amount to over $2.5 million dollars. We congratulate them all on the hard work that led to these awards, and look forward to seeing the results of their endeavors.
