The annual meeting is soon upon us and there are three events the Religious History Affinity Group is sponsoring or co-sponsoring.
On Thursday, September 18, we are joining the Historic House Affinity group for a luncheon. Our featured speaker is Dr. Jeanne Kilde, professor of religious history at the University of Minnesota. She is the author of When Church Became Theatre: The Transformation of Evangelical Architecture and Worship in Nineteenth-Century American and Sacred Power, Sacred Space: An Introduction to Christian Architecture and Worship. Dr. Kilde will be discuss interpreting religious history in historic places.
Join us on Friday, September 19, at 2:00pm for the session “Talking about Religion in History Museums.” Presenters will discuss how historical interpretations of faith can add up to something greater than the particulars of individual belief.
What to learn more about the Religious History Affinity Group? Join us for an informal get-together at “Senior Wong.” A popular St. Paul restaurant with good food, drinks, and music. (I hear the wonton poppers are amazing!) We will be meeting at “Senior Wongs” on Thursday at 5:45pm.
Hope to see you there!
Have a great time in St. Paul!
